Fresh off our 2 swoon-worthy Icelandic dinner events at the Drake Hotel, we continue our journey into the world of Scandinavian cuisine by checking out Karelia Kitchen. In a city currently inundated by fat-laden comfort food (don't get me wrong - I love!), Nordic cuisine is a welcome breath of fresh air.

    At this Event 6 of us received very proactive and courteous service from the venue and there was a very wide variety of hot and cold food on offer. I had the vegetarian platter which was a great deal for a large meal overall but wasn't too filling which was good. As we noted, the venue itself is quite brightly coloured with a fresh look and feel. Thanks for organizing a great outing, Adrienne.

    Great evening of luscious and tasty Scandinavian food with friendly diners and interesting conversations. The Blood Orange and Lingonberry Tart was outstanding with an intense fruit flavor. So phenomenal that an additional piece had to come home with me to be enjoyed later!!!

    For those going to this great little Nordic place, real authentic treat in the City. If you didn't know it was there, you'd walk right past it. I was able to take Chef Orvasson from Iceland and the Icelandic Trade Commissioner from New York here last weekend during Icelandic Fest. They ordered most of the menu, tried everything, and came away very impressed with all servings. Enjoy all! Packed for brunch. Husband works the kitchen, his wife works front counter.

      Hi Rhonda, so sorry you are on the waiting list yet again! Without a smartphone it is tough. We delay the opening of RSVPs for at least 2 days so that there is more opportunity for members get the email notice prior to the RSVPs opening. Are you able to check your emails a few times a day? I did ask the restaurant for a bigger booking but 6 was all I could get. But leave it with me...I will ask them again. Ain't too proud to beg!
