Ok, so, I'm new here, and I see that there aren't any meetups scheduled, is there a reason for that? Have the turn outs not been good or what?

I understand that it's sometimes tough to get motivated when you know what you're up against, but, it's still worth a try.

My ideas of late have been focused on the GMO crisis, because that's what it is in my opinion (a crisis), I'm in the process of putting together a small fact sheet to spread around my neighbourhood, and I was considering trying to get a meeting with my local MP. Has anyone tried to speak with one of these guys? Is it difficult to get a face to face with them? I have literally no experience with such things but i'd like to change that.

There are no meet-ups until its a little warmer. We meet at yonge ad dundas square out in front of the H&M on saturdays once the weather is good.

GMOs is a good topic. I know a lot of our members try to talk to our 'representatives' but it doesn't seem to do a lot. Still worth a shot though. Personally, I've written letters to a lot of politicians. Never got any responses.

I found a good GMO one online that I use. It might be a little outdated though. All of my pamphlets are on my website. If you want I can post yours up there with them; here is the hyperlink:

See you in maybe 6 weeks? This winter has been schizophrenic.

Just a little advise, when you send a letter to an elected representative ALWAYS end your letter with a question and a request for a response!

Thanks for that link, great resource to have. No sense putting mine up, I also borrowed some of my material from that same ResponsibleTechnology pamphlet, except I condensed mine to a page with no graphics.
As for getting minimal response from the politicians, well, that's not surprising, but it certainly won't hurt to keep trying.
I know a couple doctors and have a few people in the medical industry in my family, perhaps I can try to get them to sign off on whatever I bring up, it might help to lend a bit of credibility to my info, we'll see.

See you in 6 weeks.

Careful with that. One of our members is a doctor up in maskoka and he wrote some letters to the Huntsville Forester about fluoride. Before he knew it, 4 different government agencies were contacting him telling him it was completely safe, blah, blah.

Doctors are legally bound to the Health Canada recommendations. If they step outside of that and go against vaccines, fluoride and anything they approve, which might include GMOs, but the debate is still hot.

Regardless, doctors who come out against these evils are usually marred by their colleges and that's why so few do so.
