Come join us as we HIKETorrey Pines State Reserve & Beach... one of the most beautiful areas of San Diego! This hike takes you through gorgeous canyons, with some amazing ocean views. We meet at the corner of Carmel Valley Road & McGonigle Road (this is the entrance to the north parking lot of the reserve).
Some Things to Know About this Group BEFORE Joining:
~We ONLY hike on Torrey Pines State Park trails & beaches.
~We hike MOSTLY during the week Mon.-Fri. @ 10:00 AM (but you are welcome to post your own hike on another day of the week & at a different time).
I would say the majority of us are "intermediate" hikers. We keep a pretty brisk pace & there are some fairly steep hills on this hike. Should you get separated from the group, the trails are well marked, & it's easy to find your way to the beach & back to the parking lot. I do have stopping points along the way to help our slower hikers catch up, but we like to keep things moving, so if you are more of a "beginner", this group may not be for you. Please don't let this discourage you from trying out our group! As long as you are a somewhat regular hiker, you will be fine.
Our hikes have several options (depending on the tides)... a4-5 miler that should take about an hour and a half, a 6-7 miler that takes about 2 hours or our longest hike which can be anywhere between 7-9 miles & takes up to 3 hours.
We also have some occasional social events, i.e. picnics or lunch at a local restaurant after our hikes, which are always a lot of fun & a great way to get to know each other better!
**I get charged to run this group, so I ask each regularly participating member for a $5 annual contribution to help with my MeetUp fees.Feel free to try the group out before making your contribution. Thanks so much for your help with this & see you on the trails!!
