Ray Yonkura will be comparing and contrasting political campaigns and how they work from the County level to the Ohio State level to the National level (non-Presidential campaigns).
Ray is Chief of Staff for Congressman Jim Jordan.
Ray Yonkura was born and raised in Brunswick Hills Township, just about a mile from Lorain County. He graduated from Holy Name High School in Parma Heights, and went on to graduate from Kent State University with a double major in Political Science and History.
He began working for Jim Jordan at the Ohio Statehouse in 1997, and ran Jordan's campaign for State Senate in 2000 in what was the most expensive State Senate primary in Ohio history.
He served as executive director of the Ohio House Republican Campaign Committee in the 2002 and 2004 election cycle, helping lead House Republicans to a record-high 62 seats in 2002.
He served as Deputy Auditor in his home of Delaware County before rejoining Jim Jordan as his Chief of Staff in 2007.
He has been married to his wife Kate for 12 years and they have three sons, Charlie (10), Tommy (8) and Leo (2) with an adopted child on the way from China, that they have yet to meet!
