Beaverton Banks and Beyond Tour - NOT A TDC SPONSORED RIDE

A ride that many members of the Tour de Cure committee ride in after our event is done. No organized group activity, though you can use this meetup to find a ride buddy for the event.

From the organizers' website: This is a beautiful bicycle tour being held on Saturday, August 24, 2013, from Papa’s Pizza Parlor located at 15700 Blueridge Drive in Beaverton, Oregon (near Terpenning Recreation Complex) to Stub Stewart State Park in Buxton, with an option to explore Vernonia and return.

You do need to register on their website.  More info:

Best Century Ride of the entire season for me! It started a little wet and rainy, and ended sunny and beautiful!! Good Times!!

Morning drizzle kept the temps down to very pleasant levels. Rode caboose for Margo's longest ride of the season. She did 30mi, I did 40. It's nice riding an event I had nothing to do with :)

It was a nice ride, but the signage was a little confusing at times. I like TDC signage WAY more.

Just checked the website to register, indicated it was ended, can you register at the ride start in the morning?

    August 23, 2013

    • Margo N.

John, you should be able to register day of ride at the start area.

Hope everyone a fun ride, some of my past TNT members will be out on the road with their jerseys on. Sorry I'll miss it, I'll be helping out at a charity kids activity at McCOY Park, but am riding there and back so I'll log on about 40 miles. Be Safe

Does anyone have the 100 mile course map for the BBB, or link to it to print?

3 weekends in a row could be a bit ambitious but I'll give it a shot! Looking forward to seeing some friendly faces from past rides!

I'm still trying to figure out this sport! Like you I am transitioning from running.

Recovery time from cycling is much more forgiving than running. Once a week metrics is easily do-able. It's when you start doing daily centuries that we'll start calling you a maniac :)

I'm doing the 64mi, mostly to avoid the afternoon headwinds on the way back :) http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2998190

Kent, the map is helpful but do you have the course map for the 100 miler? I wanted to do a dry run on Sat, and Sunday

      August 17, 2013

    • Kent N.

No...I hand-crafted the 64mi, as I usually do that one. But I'm downshifting to 40 to bring Margo along :)
