Welcome to the original British-based foraging group on meetup!
We provide regular wild food walks and courses, as well as wild food cookery courses and events, in London, Brighton, Oxford, Bristol, Cardiff, and beyond!
As we are living on a planet with finite resources in an age of peak oil, these walks and courses are designed to help you develop some of the tools required to increase your self-reliance and build community resilience!
These all year round, eye-opening experiences, are open to anyone with a serious interest in learning how to find, correctly identify, prepare and use the abundance of wild food and medicine plants found here in Britain.
Please note thata nominal and redeemable membership fee of £5 per yearis payable for the administration costs of the group. In effect, this small subscription fee will not cost you anything... as soon as you book on any event! Membership fees are due on 1st January.
The majority of the meetups here are introductory foraging events. They are suitable for all comers and all ages. Supervised Children are more than welcome!
If you can't go out much but do have a computer, then wild plant information, foraging snippets, photos, videos, and other plant related content can be found on my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Ipsophyto
Foraging through the changing seasons continuously reveals more and more of nature's beauty and her useable resources.
With each different event arranged on these pages, you will be able to witness and experience the changing seasons as they bring forth changing harvests.
Don't forget you can suggest meetups to the group and Im always looking for new places to go. In the last 12 months I have visited 4 different sites on suggestions from members...So if you want to know what's growing in your area, suggest a meetup!
This platform, like others I have set up, are very much for sharing information. Hopefully we can come up with informative and good times, as well as suggestions for beautiful places to visit, where we can celebrate the abundance and virtues of plant life.
Our meetup events support and promote fair share, people care and earth care. We always try to highlight important sustainability issues.
On all our walks and courses, 50% off concessionary spaces are available for pensioners, and for low waged/unwaged.Please apply by email in the first instance. Children under 16 can come at 50% discount, and Under 12's come free.
So, now you have found us, come join the group as we embark on these journeys of discovery!
