Join me on a gorgeous hike on the Go John Trail in Cave Creek Regional Park! This beautiful and remote area provides us with fantastic views and several climbs to get the heart pumping. Our route will traverse the loop counter-clockwise, and we'll take various breaks along the way. You're encouraged to bring snacks, cameras, sun protection, and must bring at least 2+ liters of water per person and sturdy hiking footwear.

ELEVATION GAIN: ~500 ft
DURATION: 3 hours

CARPOOL LOCATION: We'll meet in the Fry's parking lot located at 4815 E Carefree Highway, Cave Creek. Park by the street, we'll leave there at 8:40 am to get to the trailhead. Mention in your RSVP if you're meeting us here.
DIRECTIONS TO TRAILHEAD: Take AZ-74/Carefree Hwy to 32nd St. Head north on 32nd St and go for about 2.5 miles to the trailhead which will be on your left. Along the way you'll pass the toll booth. There is a $6.00 per vehicle entry fee for the park. We'll meet by the Go John trailhead on this closeup map.
Post-Hike: Lunch afterwards at The Grotto - 6501 East Cave Creek Road - behind Red Truck Gallery. If you carpool with someone, please make sure everyone in the group plans to stay for the post-hike or not.
