This hike is rated INTERMEDIATE.

Join me for an evening hike to the summit of Lookout Mountain part of 2013 Phoenix Summit Challenge! This journey will combine parts of the #308 and #150 trail. I will attempt to do the same route that is posted for the summit challenge. The route has been changed from last years challenge. We will be going counter clockwise to the summit and back the same way. Starting on trial #308, expect some ups and downs and not too steep (great warm up before reaching #150 trail). The summit portion is steep and rocky. When we are closer to the top, it can be very steep with loose rocks. We will go at a moderate pace. When we reach the top, we will see some great nighttime views of the valley. Bring lots of water, snacks, and a camera. You should also bring a flashlight and/or a headlamp as we'll be in the dark for much (or all) of the hike depending on the time of year.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
