Join me for an introductory hike from the Gateway trailhead of the McDowells. Our route will take us directly into the preserve where we will travel parallel to the Levee trail. Our goal will be to reach the Paradise trail and head back along a short portion of the Gateway Loop. This trek will give you beautiful views of the preserve while staying on easy and generally flat parts of the trails. You're encouraged to bring snacks, a camera, and must bring at least 2 liters of water per person and sturdy hiking footwear.
Often our hikes are followed by a 'grub gathering' aka breakfast. Point of destination will be Tom's Thumb Market; a very unique establishment that is a treat for locals and out-of-towners. 9393 E Bell Rd, Scottsdale.
