This hike is rated EASY, however it is more strenuous than the Lonnie Loop. Come out for an evening hike from the North Mountain Visitor Center to Stoney Mountain North. There is some climbing so be prepared for some exertion. We'll take the #100 trail eastward under 7th St (thru the tunnel and the "enchanted forest") into the preserve and loop around before coming back. You're encouraged to bring snacks, cameras, and must bring at least 1+ liter of water per person and sturdy hiking footwear. You should also bring aflashlight and/or a headlamp because it will be dark for the entire hike.
I am going to cancel the hike for tonight. I have been watching the weather radar and it looks like the main storm will hit later this evening. Several small cells are developing around the area indicating the atmosphere is very unstable. Stay home and have some chicken noodle soup like I am doing! I hope to see you all next week on the Lonnie Loop hike.

I just looked at the weather report for Thursday evening. Rain is predicted, according to Weather Bug there is a 92% chance of rain beginning at 6:00pm. Hiking in the rain, in the desert, can be dangerous and no one needs to get sick. Therefore, Thursday around 3:00pm I will post an update with a go / no-go on the hike.
