Discription:
Prospector Loop is a trail less traveled by the general public. The trail is well maintained and signed. The first part of the trail is paved through the Golden Eagle neighborhood. We will then hike on the Dixie Mine Trail for 2 miles which is a gentle rolling trail through washes. Once the trail T's we will bear left to the Prospector Trail where there will be climbing through sweeping switchbacks on mild grades. The trail will connect to Windmill which is also known as Windgate. The trail will be in a downhill grade which is not too steep to reek havoc on your knees. We will connect up the Dixie Mine again for the hike back to our cars.
The trail is rated difficult because of length, not elevation. We hiked this trail last year as a group, and it is a very enjoyable hike with great scenery that will not make your lungs explode.
Excellent trail for dogs!
Please bring sturdy hiking shoes, plenty of water, sunscreen, snacks, and a camera.
Had a wonderful time! It was nice to meet everyone and hope to see you all on another hike!

I'm @ the trailhead parking now, but what I've read is the actual trailhead is 1/2 mile from parking. Do I need to go to the actual trailhead or am I @ the correct meeting place?

Awww, I'm really missing out. I just recovered from a 10 miler at White Tank. 3 days without hiking and I'm sad! See y'all on the beaten path!
