I am a newly retired teacher currently keeping busy with lots of arts-related volunteer work. I have never hiked with a "hiking group" before; but I do hike with friends and familiy here, in the White Mountains, and in the SF Bay Area.
I heard about this hike from a friend named Ann who volunteers with me at the Musical Instrument Museum.
I don't really have a favorite; but in the valley I've hiked the Go John Trail, Pinnacle Peak, the Gateway Loop, some trails in Spur Cross, the Peralta Trail in the Superstitions, some trails in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve, and Camelback Mountain.
No, I am not that skilled.
I like to get out and enjoy nature, company, and exercising. I would also like to meet people involved in trail maintenance (in cool climate months and in nearby areas that don't require camping) because I am interested in volunteering for this activity and have been unable to find information.
Yes
This is only my second hike with them. So far, it is a great group!

Judy, Welcome to Arizona Desert Hikers!...Hope to see you out on the trails...
Hi Judy, it was great seeing you again today! Enjoy your hike on Saturday! :)
Welcome Judy, I look forward to meeting you soon!
Judy, it was nice meeting you! Thank you for the ride, and I look forward to seeing you again!
Judy, You will just need to drive north on Pima until you get to E Rio Verde Dr. Go east until the road comes to a "T" at Ft. McDowell Rd and take a left. You will see a right turn not long after... take that and you will be entering the Box Bar parking area. It's pretty easy, but if you get turned around call my cell, which I will provide in an email this week.
Hi Judy, I look forward to meeting you. Although we will be working first, I generally have a post-hiking or camping option with each project to reward our efforts. : ) Thanks for joining!
Hi Judy, welcome to Trail Mix!
