Sweetwater Creek 7+ miles

Sweetwater park is a GORGEOUS park, and another huge perk is that it´s a VERY close to Atlanta! For those running the Twisted Ankle, this is a great way to practice on some hills and more technical terrain without the long drive. There are also MANY photo ops along this trail. I would suggest bringing a camera! :)

As always, feel free to run as far as you wish and at any pace that is comfortable for you. We´ll start by going onto the yellow trail loop into the ravine, followed by the red trail which takes us down along the rapids to the mill ruins. After the red trail, we´ll hop onto the white trail up the valley and along several meadows filled with wildflowers!

For those looking for additional mileage, we can follow up the approx. 7 mile run by taking teh blue trail down and going back up on either the white (approx. 12 miles total) or the red (approx. 10 miles total). Personally, I´m up for the 12 miler.

If everyone is in, we could easily follow up the run with a well-deserved potluck picnic! How about that!!!

Click here for the trail map.

***You MUST bring hydration. NO EXCEPTIONS. The only areas for water will be the restroom at the beginning and up towards the end of the white trail. I would suggest bringing proper fuel as well.***

There is a $4 or $5 parking fee per car. So, if anyone wants to meet at the Craker Barrel at 6:54am and car pool to the park, it could save some money.

I don't believe Charlies is going to this due to family commitments. I won't be able to stay after long either, as we're going to a festival around noon. I might be able to grab a quick bite and some coffee somewhere but have to head back home at 10:00.

There's a cracker barrel about 4 miles away for anyone who is interested in grabbing breakfast/brunch afterwards.

Sweetwater state park rents canoes for $10/hour. After the Potluck Picnic, I want to go canoeing for an hour to get an upper body workout. Anyone else want to canoe?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
