Cochran Shoals AND Sope Creek...that's right...I said "AND!"

Time for a trail run! We'll ease into it by starting the first 1.5-2 miles on the Cochran Shoals loop. Then, we'll take the side trail up to the Sope Creek trail system, run up to Sibley Pond, loop around, and head back down. We will run/walk along Sope Creek which is (in my opinion) the second most beautiful whitewater creek in metro Atlanta. This is roundabouts 8-9 miles. We can take some side trails up there to get in additional mileage. And drum roll please!!! Yes, there will be hills! (Feel free to take walk breaks as needed.)

If you want to come run with us but would rather not go towards Sope Creek, feel free to run loops at Cochran Shoals. The trail is relatively flat and made of gravel and dirt.

***If you need water, there are water fountains at the beginning of Cochran Shoals, up by Columns Drive, and at the very top part of the Sope Creek trail system. ***

Please familiarize yourself with the following maps:

Cochran Shoals

Columns Drive

Sope Creek

*Please remember to bring $3 for parking or the annual parking pass.

Directions: From I-285 East: Take exit 22, Northside Drive, New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road. Go to second traffic light and go left onto New Northside Drive. Use “through” lane to pick up Interstate North Parkway. Unit will be .8 miles on the right after crossing the Chattahoochee.

Good run! Stripped off some clothes and ran another three miles after, so maybe we can do longer runs in the future :)
