This trail run is perfect for new members, all runners who are new to trail running and people who want to get to know the Chino Hills State Park. Since this is an out and back trail run, everyone can run their own pace and distance without being afraid of getting lost. It is also a good training run for everybody else who doesn't feel quite ready for one of the longer runs in Chino Hills or just wants to get in another training run.
We will meet at the most eastern parking lot in the Carbon Canyon Regional Park ( view map ): After the park entrance (don't forget to bring $5 for the entrance fee or to buy an annual pass for $55) take a left and follow the road all the way to the end (past the tennis courts).
From the Carbon Canyon Regional Park parking lot we will run over to the entrance of the Chino Hills State Park. We will take North Ridge trail all the way to the summit of Gilman Peak (1685 ft) from where you can enjoy a 360 degree view to the San Gabriel Mountains, Downtown LA and Catalina Island (on clear days).
This meetup starts at 8:00 am sharp! Please call if you are running late or if you can't find it:[masked] 1005. Please bring correct running shoes and apparel, enough water, sunscreen/hat, snacks and attitude. Please know your own limits!
