Definition "Trail Runner":

A Trail Runner is a road runner that went crazy from pounding the pavement with thousands of others. Out of boredom they are forced to run in the woods, hills, mountains or deserts. Trail runners find true enjoyment getting their feet dirty, jumping over trees and rocks, crossing deep water and hiking long climbs.

Trail Runners are often misunderstood. People think they are "insane" because they are training and racing in zero degrees, deep snow, rain, and temperatures that make the soles of their shoes melt. A Trail Runner never turns down a hill climb and just runs hills for the hell of it. It is not unusual for a Trail Runner to ascend and descend thousands of feet.

Trail Runners spend most of their time in beautiful nature. Normally, they are not surrounded by too many other two legged species ("human beings"). But Trail Runners share their territory with other creatures - some with no legs, others with 4, 6 or even 8 legs.
