Join us as we explore the natural wonder of Goring Gap. Renowned for its beauty, the area has featured in films including the remake of Pride and Prejudice, and was even the inspiration for the illustrations in the original book that was Wind in the Willows.
It is at Goring Gap that the broad Thames valley narrows as the river passes between the Chiltern Hills and the Berkshire Downs. An extraordinary feature formed by melt water produced at the end of the last ice age, its creation was so momentous that without it the Thames would be today 30 miles north.
Our journey will take us across the hills and forests of this beautiful area, finishing off, as we usually do, with food and drink in a local pub.
