Join us as we head for the magnificent rolling landscape of Wendover in Buckinghamshire. With scenic hills and verdant woodlands, our route will take us along a picturesque valley cut through the Chilterns, passing by scenic stretches of water along the way. Then we will head towards the very edge of the range, where we will encounter glorious views of the Vale of Aylesbury stretching out towards the English Midlands.
Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the location of this trail has provided inspiration for some of the most extraordinary writers in the English language. Roald Dahl, author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, lived here, as did Robert Louis Stevenson, author of Treasure Island.
Upon our return in the evening, we will reward ourselves for the day's accomplishments, as we usually do, by stopping for food and drink in a local country pub.
