Join us as we head to the scenic Ridgeway in Buckinghamshire. With views stretching out towards the Midlands, our route provides a picturesque contrast where the uplifted chalk of the Chiltern Hills meets England's central plains.
Following the north-western scarp face of the range, the Ridgeway is possibly Britain's oldest trail, in use since the Stone Age.
Our walk will take us through beautiful woods and fields towards Coombe Hill, from where we will look out across the Vale of Aylesbury. After this we will turn south-east into an alluring countryside that provided backdrops for numerous British movies from the 1950s to the 1980s. In amongst the forest covered hills and dry chalk valleys, famous productions included 'Dracula' and 'One Million Years BC'.
Upon our return in the evening, our day's accomplishments will be rewarded as usual with food and drink in a local pub.
