Flying Carpet - Moroccan Soul Food

Do not let the summer heat keep you hungry and bored! This place has a great indoor eating and lounging area. It is two delicious food trailers (Flying Carpet and Regal Ravioli), but with the comforts of home and a fun gang of friends. If you have not had Moroccan food before (a little similar to Middle Eastern or Greek foods), this is a great way to experience it and make your tongue do the happy dance. Also remember to BYOB with plenty of your favorite beer, wine, or cocktails (blueberry moonshine, anyone?).

A little bit about The Flying Carpet from their website:

A passion for flavorful food and family inspired the genesis of The Flying Carpet. Owners Maria & Abderrahim Souktouri merged their love of Moroccan food, a desire to eat quality fare economically, and Austin’s street food scene to open a food trailer such as they had encountered in their travels to Morocco. The food served at The Flying Carpet is all natural. That means premium everything; from organic vegetables, to vegetarian-fed chemical/hormone-free eggs and meat. The Flying Carpet’s motto is ‘food translates’, because Maria & Abderrahim believe that sitting down to a meal with friends and family is one of the most important things we do in life. Food is a language we all speak. “We are neither chefs nor restaurateurs, we are just people who live to serve, eat and make food for the ones we love. We hope to see you at the trailer; it is much like our home: loud, warm and full of love!”

If Moroccan fare is not your thing, you can also get amazing food from Regal Ravioli, as both trailers share the same venue.

We are taking over the tables inside. The parking lot is kinda full, but there is street parking on Durwood Street across Oltorf.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
