Baton Creole

Jambalaya, deep fried on a stick. That's all you need to know.

But seriously, let's go get some authentic cajun food! They have other foods on sticks as well such as beer battered gator, homemade boudin balls, beer battered tofu, and Zapp's potato chip fried chicken. Things that are not on a stick include gumbo with chicken and sausage, etouffee with shrimp and crawfish, jalapeno cheese green bean casserole & crab boil tater salad, and spinach salad with blackened chicken, tomatoes and goat cheese

The large, pink trailer is located on East Sixth, two blocks east of I-35, at the Eastside Eats Food Court. The park is also BYOB. Let's all go have a taste of Louisiana! Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Elaine and I enjoyed everything we had - Jambalaya on a stick, more for the novelty than anything else, but it was good... and we loved the green bean casserole with the blackened chicken! Ditto on the beignets... and we are New Orleans girls, so rather snobby about our Cajun cuisine... thanks, Alex, for coordinating... looking forward to more events with this group!

The gumbo was delicious, and I got the last dregs of the potato salad that usually accompanies it, but that mix of hot & cold was enough to make me want to go back again. The beignets she let us sample were amazing- got powdered sugar all over me (mental note - hold breath next time) but I so didn't care. Was great meeting you all last night!

the tofu was tasty but the fried jambalaya was pretty greasy... beignets were good... next time I'll try the salad
