I will be hosting for the Adventurous Young Mazamas over the weekend of March 8-9, so the lodge will be open and members and guests are welcome to stop in on Saturday to visit and say hello. No need to RSVP here unless you want to stay overnight.
If you would like to sleep over Friday and/or Saturday nights, we'll have room for an addition 6 people each night. We expect to have 21 Mazamas as well. Please indicate in your RSVP or in comments which night(s) you want. Lodge fees are $10 per night for members of the club and $15 for guests.
My plan is to carpool from Gateway and drive in part way on forest roads - if we don't get snow that blocks them - and then hike in 2 miles. Otherwise we will hike in from Wahkeena Falls. We will be hiking in the dark, so you will need headlamps.
What to bring for an overnight:
Food for the weekend! The lodge has coffee and tea and basic spices, but you need to bring your own grub. :)
Headlamp or flashlights. Lights and power will be off at night
The 10 Essentials
Extra warm clothing, hat, gloves, rain gear, etc. (Bring what you would bring on any hike)
No dogs please - and no children. We will have a large group of Mazamas, perhaps as many as 20, and it's not a family appropriate weekend.
Per club rules, alcohol is not permitted at the lodge.
