It's time for the first Trails and Ales Bike Ride!
We will meet on the bike path by the Cherry Creek Mall just outside of Sports Authority and Johnny Rockets (map). Then we will ride down along Cherry Creek to Confluence Park, up to City of Cuernavaca Park and then down and around Mile High Stadium. Finally, back up Cherry Creek with a side trip around Washington Park.
Click here for a map of the entire route.
The Cherry Cricket on the corner of 2nd & Clayton(2641 East 2nd Ave map). It might be easier to just walk or bike over, but there is free parking for the Cherry Cricket on the north side of the building (if you can find a spot).
Sunday, March 31 at 10:30 AM
We will start meeting at 10:30 and head out promptly at 11:00.
I expect our ride will take about 2 to 2 1/2 hours and we will get to the Cricket around 1:00 - 1:30.
This is an easy ride. It is very flat and paved the whole way. I suspect we will naturally split into groups based on riding style and ability. The insane road bikers can push on ahead while the comfort cruisers can enjoy the ride at their own pace. At City of Cuernavaca Park, those in front can ride in a big circle while everyone else gets caught up.
You must have a helmet!
Everyone participating in this ride must have a bike helmet.
What kind of bike do I need?
Any kind! Road Bike, Mountain Bike, Comfort Cruiser, BMX...anything that rolls.
Need a Bike?
There is a B-Cycle station at our meeting/starting point.
There will be plenty of parking in the Cherry Creek Mall parking garage. We will meet and start from right between the East and West parking decks.
If the weather turns poor (rain, snow or very cold) then we will just go straight to the Cricket for our own Sunday brunch kinda thing. Some of us insane maniacs may try to push through any weather.
Do you have a good camera? Can you take great pics? We would love to have lots of fun pics to keep and share. At some point along the route we will stop for a group photo.
