County Road 23, Pike National Forest, CO
The Plan: Let's do some Camping and Fishing at Tarryall Resevoir the weekend of September 28th. I will head up Friday night and meet those who want to join that night at the Jefferson Market in Jefferson at 7pm and head into the campsite then and reserve some spots. There are designated camp spots directly on the lake and also some primitive sites about a half mile away. On the lake there isn't much in the way of trees, but there are plenty back by the primitive spots.
The lake is supposed to be good fishing for Trout and Pike. If you have one, the lake does allow boats on it. There are also tons of hiking and mountain biking trails in the area.
To get there: From Denver take Hwy 285 to Jefferson, turn left on Tarryall Road (county road 77) and follow it for 17.5 miles. Turn right onto Turner Gulch road (county road 23) and follow it for .5 miles
From the southern front range: I-25 North to C-470. C-470 west to 285. Everything is the same after that.
Bring plenty of water for you and your family, Fire wood if you so desire and everything you would need to be self sufficient. There is a campground, but it is very basic. Oh, and the campground is free.
