Well a few of us are kid less this Thanksgiving and thought that an outdoor adult trip would be fun. This will all be weather dependent of course.
The Plan: To leave out Wednesday evening (11/27) after work and drive over to Ken's lake in Moab. Will spend Wednesday through Saturday in the area and come home on Sunday.
There is a plethora of activity to do down there. From Hiking, fishing, mountain biking and offroading. Amanda and I plan on doing some mountain biking and hiking in the area with possibly one easy off road trail.
The campsites are $15 dollars a night and have toilets and picnic tables. THERE IS NO DRINKING WATER AVAILABLE AT THE SITE SO BRING YOUR OWN. And please bring wood for campfires.
Moab has generally mild winters but can get cold at night with snow in the higher La Sal mountains so be sure to pack appropriately. There are also several hotels in the area so you don't have to camp if you don't want to.
For the Thanksgiving feast I thought we could do it potluck style. I will be happy to cook a ham or turkey if others could bring some sides.
