Folks, We will hike up to and around the Red Mesa loop. Approx. distance-8.2 miles. The is a very beautiful and rewarding hike. One of my favorites.Dress for the weather. If real cold dress in LAYERS and if significant snow Microspikes ,Yak Tracks or snowshoes.Bring plenty of food and water. Will add more as weather dictates it.

Overview: Directions: Take I-70 West to C-470 East. Take the Wadsworth Boulevard exit. Turn right off of the exit and then turn right at the first light, Deer Creek Canyon road. Go about 2 miles to a stop sign, turn left and continue past the South Valley park trail head. In less than a mile from the South Valley park trail head, turn left onto Grizzly Drive. This will lead you to the obvious parking lot on your right. Dogs allowed on a leash.

I'm going to have to change my RSVPvas well. I woke up feeling under the weather and I don't think going out and hiking in this weather would be wise

I'm changing my RSVP for today. I don't think I'm up for the drive out there from downtown in the storm. Have fun today and I look forward to hiking with you guys soon!

Hey! I just got into town and would love to join. If the roads are looking rough in the morning though, then I probably won't make it!

So, I really want to do this hike, but I'm a little hesitant to drive my 2wd Honda all the way to Littleton from Boulder given the possible road conditions. Is anyone coming from the Boulder area for the hike (and beer afterwards) that is willing to carpool for gas money?

    January 4, 2014

    • Petra

Oh, well. You only live once. I'll just leave a little early and drive like a grandma. Bringing the snowshoes!!

I see that dogs are allowed on leash and would like to bring my 2 dogs who are well-behaved, however I just wanted to make sure that is cool with the group. If not I can leave them at home. They just enjoy hiking as much as I do!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
