Downs Park Beach

Dog Beach at Downs Park. A dog beach only and not a dog park. Dogs can run off-leash at this Chesapeake Bay Beach in Pasadena.
http://www.aacounty.org/RecParks/parks/dogparks/index.cfm#.UYR9brU3sfU

This is a state park with wonderful paved paths that you can take the dogs on, breathtaking views of the bay and of course a off leash beach that connects to the bay.

Enter into the park and proceed to the Very Last parking lot. (At the End of the Road.) At 10:45am We will proceeds to the dog beach. It's not marked from the road but only from within a 1/5 of mile. I recommend that after the romp on the beach if the attendee would like, that they proceed to hike the trail around the park with is about 3.5 miles but all flat terrain. Its a great way for your pet to socialize while drying off.

The entry fee charge $6 per a car. So it might save money if people car pool. However if you have the annual pass this park accepts it, and as well if you are active military you can get in free with a valid ID. If you are interested here is a attached link on a few other ways to save at state parks.
There are bathrooms near the doggy beach. If you are running late just meet us down at the water. It's a very popular place, lots of other dogs will be there too. I like to introduce the dogs one by one, so it's not too over whelming.
Rachel Swift[masked] any questions.
Thanks Emily M. thanks this is a great idea, I like this place!

Great area, water is a little rocky so I'd advise water shoes but the dogs had a great time

It was a very fun time at Downs Park: we enjoyed about an hour at on the beach then did a 2.5 mile walk along the beautiful paved trails.

This is a Sunday meet up in Pasadena at Downs Park. I can schedule one for Saturday at Patapsco also! As for showers, at downs park, maybe at the human beach. Last time they had a hose hooked up to rinse off the dogs.

Ok change in plans. I just found out My sister is flying into Dulles Sunday morning. So lets reschedule downs park to the next sunday instead. But for Saturday lets go to patapsco valley state park at 10:30am. There's a shallow river 6inches up to 3feet deep for the dogs to slash around in. Park Entrance fee $3per people.

This is for 23 June. For the 30th I do plan on scheduling a meet up also. I wanted feedback to see what we should do next. I realized, It's best to take it one week at a time

Wish we could make it, but I've got an all day date with a flea market booth. :-)

    • Wayne M.

Be careful at the flea market, you don't want any of those fleas to get on Zoey & Shasti. ;-)
