Hike at The Swinging Bridge in patapsco park

Meet at the grass by PARKING LOT PAST THE SWINGING BRIDGE. we can decide how long we want to walk.

On weekends, the Patapsco State Park entrance fee is $3 per person. Or $75 seasonal per car, good for all state parks.

Directions once you enter the park

The address (5120 South Street, Baltimore, MD 21227) gets you to the park entrance. After turning in the park entrance, please pay the $3 entrance fee at the booth. Continue straight ahead (for about 1.5 miles) and when you reach the intersection, take a left (there is not an option to go forward, you can only turn left or right). Follow the road TWO MILES to the  parking lot at the end of the road past the swinging bridge . Call me with any questions[masked] Rachel Swift.

I heard back from the pub. Columbia has outdoor seating with about ten tables that folks with well behaved dogs can sit at. You have to go in to get your food/drink so be sure to bring someone to sit with your dog while you are inside as no dogs allowed inside the restaurant. Federal hill does not offer outdoor seating so no where for folks to sit with dogs.

Here's the link to Pub Dog in Columbia http://www.pubdog.net next time we do Patapsco let's finish up there. It's about 9 Miles from the park entrance. Also there's one in Federal Hill if anyone want's to do a city walk.

I sent an email to the Federal Hill pub to ask if they have outdoor seating that would be acceptable to bring dogs to. Columbia would be a bit too much travel for us on a weekday after work

Rachel, Thanks for organizing and leading today's walk. The Grist Mill Trail was a perfect choice. As always, I had a great time.

I plan to head that way soon. So far the weather looks ok for me over in Brooklyn Park. I'm bringing Hef, my younger Dane, as he won't melt right away :-)

Good morning! If its raining any harder than it is at the moment then I may back out. My poor, "big bad" doberman is convinced he melts in the rain and I wouldn't want to "torture" him... I'll text you (Rachel) by 10:00am if I am NOT coming. Sorry to be difficult...

Amelia thanks for writing.this. we just text Rachel with about The same the.g with our two dogs. Two that love to swim, but hate to walk in the rain.

Good morning! YES I'm still having the meet up today. There is a 4mile paved trail we can walk instead of muddy hiking. Bring towels to dry off your dog for the ride home. Old Shoes are a good idea.

Hi Rachel we are wondering about the rain as well. Hopefully we get to hike. The two of us have really been looking forward to you showing us the trails there. It's about an hour drive for Radomir and I. That's far enough away that the weather could be completely different there then what it is here. I will look at 9:20 to see if it's been cancelled before heading out.(and of course post it on the other group if it is) Please text us if you find the need to cancel after that time[masked]-0784. Thanks Mary

Is this event rain or shine?

I'm looking forward to hiking with everyone. And I'm hoping that my lucky streak of good weather during a hike continues; so far this year every time there has been a threat of rain in the forecast, the rain has held off until the hike was over.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
