Radomir and Mary along with dogs Candy and Sasha
We love hiking usually 2 hours or so during the week nights and 3-5 hours on weekends when time and sun allows. Currently we hike a lot with hiking dogs of Central MD and love the group. The distance of hikes other then when we host are a bit far especially for after work on weeknights. They are mainly in Liberty or further destinations. We noticed your group hikes Gun Powder, Loch Raven and Robert Lee. Those areas along with occasional trips to Pretty boy are the areas we host and hike regularly. It would be great to have more people to hike with out this way. Many times we are the only ones signed up for hikes since most other H.D.O.C. MD who hike regularly seem to live in or near Carroll county.
Yes two dogs Candy retriever mix and Sasha terrier mix.
Radomir drinks beer, He's mostly fond of czech beer, but would enjoy checking out some of the local brewery's. I don't drink beer. we'd both enjoy the winery tours.
Terrific, upbeat, friendly group!
For some reason my meetup can't find yours so I can't get the details of where to meet tonight so I've mad other plans for today but will get this figured out for next week
Mary. I can't find the hike tomorrow - can you please remind me of the details. Thanks. I look forward to seeing you again Mary
Hi Radomir and Mary. A July 14 hike/beach day sounds good to me and starting the hike at 10 AM sounds good. Are you going to set that up for both groups, TT&A and HTotT?
I should clarify what I meant by the week after July 4. I meant the weekend of July 13 and 14. On the July 4th holiday weekend of 5/6/7, I will be camping in the Shenandoah National Forest so I will be unable to host a Downs Park event on July 5, 6 or 7.
Hi Mary and Radomir, Today I spoke with Rachel at Downs Park concerning a beach day on July 4th. Rachel's opinion and the opinion of other members at today's event was that the park would be too crowded on July 4th and our members might have a difficult time finding a parking spot as a lot of other people stake out areas for their festivities. Plus there might be fireworks that upset the dogs. I'm open to a July 4 AM hike and maybe visit Downs Park on the week after July 4.
I hope you both a great Summer! I look forward to catching up and hiking with you this Fall and Winter.
Hi Radomir & Mary! Last night I emailed a description of my hike but I don't think you got it. It was about a 3 mile hike. There is a trail on the right side of Guyton Rd approximately 100 yards from where we parked. This trail follows the river before it dead-ends after about 1 - 1.5 miles. There are several trails which branch off of the river trail. I hiked 1 of those trails which went up to a horse stable then looped back to Guyton Rd. I'm not sure if we could get a 5 miler on those trails.
Hey Mary! The heat this summer has done us ALL in. Maggie really hates it, Robbie doesn't seem to care one way or another. I do give them each a piece of frozen fruit after going for our short 15 minute walks and that helps them both cool down. I can't wait for it to cool down either. I keep telling Maggie that we will go and see Sasa and Candy again! I've bought jeans from GW, a sweater from GW and replaced my LL Bean hiking shoes ALL in preparation to hike again!
