Note that we will split into two groups of 12. David will lead the first group. 15 minutes later, Maryjane will lead the second group. We have to do this so that we obey the group size limit of 12.

A beautiful day in the Mt. St. Helens area, with clear views of the mountain, Spirit Lake and Meta Lake. Everyone was great to hang out with, being very patient and supportive of each other. Many thanks especially to Maryjane for hosting this event. As our "Fearless Leader", she did a great job waiting for people when we started to get separated a bit, and making sure everyone knew where to go, both at the P&R and at the trailhead. Thanks so much for a fantastic time, and of course thank you tree for providing shade... haha. :)

The Norway Pass at Mt. St. Helens was wonderful! I enjoyed all the hikers that attended. The warm and sunny weather was fantastic. I love the Trailside hikers! We are such a mellow, carefree group that is needed in this fast-paced world. :D

Who is willing willing to drive? Drivers need a Northwest Forest Pass. Also drivers, how many passengers can you take?

Please note that David and I are camping at Ike Kinswa SP in Mossyrock (on US12) and will be meeting Maryjane and the 512 P&R folks at the Norway Pass P&R.

Am going to have to cancel as much as I don't want to and hate having to do it last minute. Was just down there a couple of weeks ago and was looking forward to coming back. Hope you have a wonderful hike.

I am going on this hike. It is my first expedition with a Meetup group. I was unable to find commentary on carpool arrangements. I would like to be a rider my first time out. Is it too late to join a carpool?

I am going to open up this trip for two groups like the Chuck did for the July trip. Maryjane will lead the 2nd group who will leave the P&R about 30 minutes after the first group. That way we can satisfy the park service.

Does that mean you are going to take the 24 RSVP's and split Into 2 groups of 12, or are you going to Lead the 24 and Maryjane lead those on the waiting list?

      June 22, 2013

    • Lisa H.

I will take 12 and Maryjane will take 12. When it gets closer to the date we will arrange carpools.

Was wondering if we can increase the group size

    March 26, 2013

    • Chuck M.

Nope. I called the ranger station to verify the size limit. It's worse if you want to camp in the back country. Then, the limit is 4!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
