This is a weather permitting hike. Since this hike is all about the views, if clouds are forecasted but no rain we will change to Rachel Lake. If rain is forecasted then we will cancel.
"If heaven were a geographical destination it might resemble Summerland." This trail has it all....meadows, magical tarns, psychedelic-colored moss, and glacial streams and the sites don't stop there. The Winthrop Glacier and Little Tahoma are clearly visible as well as the towering Mt Rainier.

• Difficulty - Moderately Difficult
• Hiking Speed - Moderate to Fast - due to the distance this is not a hike for slower hikers
• Pass Required - National Parks Pass or $15 per vehicle entrance fee
• Dog Friendly - No. This hike is within Mt Rainier National Forest where dogs are not allowed.

Bring a daypack with extra food, water, and of course the rest of the ten essentials including bug spray, sunscreen/hat, and clothing layers. This is a long hike so bring plenty of water. Please bring $10 for drivers to help with gas as well as money for park entrance fee if needed.
