Paradise snowshoe

There is already about a foot of snow at Paradise, and 1-3 inches is expected to fall tonight, so it's time to get out your snowshoes.

I haven't set a route yet, since I want to get some beta from the rangers. I guarantee that this won't be a long hike (worst case, 5 miles total).

We'll probably start at Paradise or Narada Falls and walk to the Reflection Lakes, but that's not final yet.

Notes:

****No***** entrance fee for Mt. Rainier this weekend (Veteran's Day celebration).

Thanks, Chuck, for organizing this by request at the last minute! You are a trooper! That was a lot of fun. And we all got good at sleuthing/retracing our own steps. If I ever get lost in the woods, maybe I can find myself. Ha ha.

I totally enjoyed the day. I do love to snowshoe. Thanks everyone for the great company and for making this event happen. Thanks Maryjane for losing your wallet on the slope so could find it. That made my day!

Where did you go today? What were the snow conditions like?
    Thanks for the info.

Paradise. We explored the area around Alta Vista. The snow isn't very deep yet (about a foot), although we did see a few drifts that were about 4 feet or so.

Wish this was on Saturday, I would definitely go. Have Church on Sundays.

There's nothing wrong with attending church! I scheduled this event on Sunday due to a request. I will definitely schedule other events on Saturdays.

I didn't realize it's tomorrow... Have other plans. Enjoy the snow!

If you cannot go, please change your RSVP to No. If you don't change it, you will be counted as a "No Show" on the day of the event. That is potentially bad, since a person is kicked out of Trailside after they've had 3 No Snows.

That's "no shows" instead of "no snows". I guess I'm human, after all. :)

Hi Chuck, I would love to go to this outing tomorrow but already had other plans. I would love to go another time with a bit more advanced notice. lots of snowy days coming up --hope you can organize/plan another snow shoe outing for Mt Rainier. I have snow shoed up there a number of times--so enjoyable each and every time

Sorry about the short notice. This was a spur of the moment thing, triggered by a request from a hiker on the Twin Falls hike. Normally, I set up an event at least a week in advance, so that people can fit the event into their calender. I will definitely schedule more events as the season moves closer to winter.

Darn, the wife wants to go to the antiques show (which isn't a real bad thing) so I went for a hike a Northwest Trek today. Definately would have rather gone for my first outing with the group.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
