How did you learn about the concept of Transition and/or this group?

I was on the initiating group for Transition Town Lyons and have known about Transition since 2008. When I moved back to NH I wanted to see a Transition Initiative in this area and have worked to develop a class at Colby-Sawyer College (with my co-instructor Harvey Pine) to get students involved in building the infrastructure for this movement here. And now we have several wonderful and talented community members who are helping to organize and strengthen our efforts.

What do you hope to experience with this group?

Greater wellbeing and overall sustainability, as well as more connected, joyful and resilient communities.

What are you passionate about, that would help bring our community closer together?

Local food, permaculture, whole systems sustainability, energy conservation, value-supported behavior change, and the "human side" of transition.

I teach in the Environmental Studies Department at Colby-Sawyer College and am the Sustainability Coordinator as well. I am a member of the Task Force for Kearsarge Valley Transition.
