Stand Up for a Frack-Free Tennessee

Greetings, friends! Sorry for the short notice on this meeting, but hope you can attend and lend your voice to our effort to STOP hydraulic fracturing in TN. Thank you! Spread the word. Details as follows...

This is one of many Standing up to protect Tennessee and the planet meetings.

The focus of this meeting will be to have a delicious potluck breakfast with friends, and/or Tennesseeresidentsand to stuff envelopes with two sheets that will hopefully educate other Tennessee residents as to why it is not wise nor desirable to allow the oil and gas companies to use hydraulic fracturing technology in the state of Tennessee

It is really important that if you plan to attend and can, to bring a good, long list of your family, friends, and other contacts that you feel could and would be willing to stand up to protect Tennessee from being poisoned and fractured.  The list will remain in your possession and will not be share with others without your permission.  If you do not have a list come anyway and have a good breakfast with us and help us stuff and stamp  envelopes.  I am going to front the cost of printing the material, envelopes, and stamps.  I will gladly accept donations to help me defray those cost.  Love to us all!

Over-all, a good meeting and a good beginning, with about 14 or so in attendance. Huge thanks due to Anna, especially, and all who contributed food, time and effort. The breakfast was wonderful, as well as the chance to meet new people. We covered a lot of ground in discussion, with Anna hosting and Eric Lewis facilitating. College students from MTSU brought a lot of good energy and ideas to the table. We ran quite a bit over on time, and could have used a firmer agenda and timeline. Also parking situation was a bit unclear: no one knew about parking at the church. But, in the end, it all worked out and got us moving in the right direction.

Although I won't be able to make this Meetup, I have put something into place that can help us deal with issues such as the unintended consequences of fracking, by the natural gas industry. The natural gas industry gone wild, is simply a symptom of a federal government out of touch with reality and the American people.
I'm sure we are all aware who our Congress, and the three branches of our federal government in general, are really working for.
The Permaculture Guild, has established a new Meetup group based out of Washington D.C. The intent of this Meetup is to create a coalition, representing various groups from across the country, to create a movement, that has the potential to effectively push back insane federal government policies that are destroying our communities, our country, and our environment. It is way past time to give our representatives in Washington D.C., a serious wake up call.
