In order to provide an in-depth experiential introduction to Transition for those considering bringing Transition to their community, and to meet the training requirement for local initiating groups, the Transition Center, Portland ME is now offering the two-day Training for Transition course as developed by Naresh Giangrande and Sophy Banks of the Transition Network, in England.
At the Training for Transition course, you will:
• Experience a deep understanding of the Transition ethos
• Experience an intimate encounter with the emerging future
• Develop skills to deal with difficult questions
• Have clear talking points around Climate Change and Peak Oil
• Receive an inspirational/energetic boost that will empower
and propel you as a powerful Transition catalyst in your community
• Connect with others who are responding to the call for Transition
• Connect with the heart of what may be the most important,
most inspirational movement in the world!
Curriculum: The course includes the "fundamentals" for those wishing to know how to set up, run, and maintain a successful Transition Initiative. It is packed with imaginative and inspiring ways to delve into both the theory and practice of Transition, providing training in the basics of Transition for new communities coming on board.
Who should attend: Transition Initiative leaders, steering group members, working group members, and those considering Transition in their communities (whether in Montpelier or beyond!).
Instructors: This Training for Transition (T4T) course will be taught by Alastair Lough, PhD and Patricia Proulx-Lough, MS LMFT, co-founders of the Transition Movement in the US, and principals of the Transition Center in Portland, Maine. Together they bring decades of experience in natural resources, the psychology of change, organizational behavior, group facilitation, visioning processes, event planning and leadership.
