The news about peak oil and climate change can be so fear-provoking and lead me to feel overwhelmed, hopeless and helpless. This group provides a positive venue to brainstorm, process and plan for a beautiful, sustainable future. It puts me in contact with others who have exciting ideas on how to make transition happen on all levels -- from energy, to food production, to business, to art... The group is inclusive: people with varying skills and interests are encourage to help make a difference. It is the collective genius that will help us find our way to a sustainable future and develop a power-down strategy that people will see as inviting and preferable to the present, non-sustainable way of living. When several people meet and minds are allowed to expand, synergy happens; beautiful ideas and plans result and the load doesn't feel so heavy anymore. Lighten up and join our group!
