BUILDING A SPIRAL HERB GARDEN- Join us for this fun project as we create a spiral herb garden and learn the how's and why's of this great technique over the course of the next couple weeks. Please bring any and all herb seeds and plants you have available to donate to this project... come back later and harvest some!

*** We've built the base mound so far starting with a layer of heavy cardboard on the ground. We then built a "pyramid" using cinderblocks which we then covered with wood chips followed by a truck load ofcompost giving us a mound about 3 ft tall and a bit more around. Next, we'll start laying out the spiral using stone and bricks, then we'll plant into it... yeah!

Come on out and join us on Thursday evenings for fun, educational and tasty evenings as we work towards creating a Permaculture based urban farm, community garden learning/ re-skilling center.

Bring some food and drink for the potluck dinner, we'll have a BBQ grill going if you want to throw something on it. Please bring your own cooking/eating utensils.

We're always hoping someone will show up with the tool we don't have and need at the moment so bring anything you have and are willing to carry with you... maybe even a tractor!

Current projects we're working on or in the plans:

An overall permaculture plan

getting garden beds made and planted

a spiral herb garden

composting toilet

trimming and thinning trees

Hugelkultur beds

outdoor cooking and socializing area

Cobb oven- for pizza and bread making

Solar well pump and water collection system

Barn roof

Off grid solar power system

Above all... a fun, creative, learning environment!

As Derryl says, 6 is realistically on time! Look forward to meeting you...

Hi Tom. Yes, next to the Armstrong High School. No letter box. House next door is white. There is the remains of an old building painted yellow (if I recall correctly). We are there for sure from 6-6:30pm each Thursday.
