ideas that have come in regarding possible meeting formats, times, etc.

This is a digest sort of message, pulled together from replies from several different members on the subject of the sorts of meetings you'd like to see.

I have wondered about work groups. We could meet for 3-6 hours and take on a sustainable task (like insulating/caulking windows, gardening, .....) those things that are hard to tackle and so, never get done. Kids play, we're social, pot luck together and someone gets some of their house and yardwork done. Then, we meet in another couple of weeks and get something else done at someone else's house. We learn skills, discuss best products, methods, efficiency, gardening skills and again, it's fun. After a while, it's your turn. You inventory your needs, look at the house, the yard and evaluate what can and should be done. I think of this mainly for non-winter months.

Another variation to this idea is that we all build something for ourselves together. Chicken coops..... solar dryers...... solar cookers...... warm windows...... cold frames..... but that we don't all have to figure it out, get all the supplies, just one does and everyone works together to build them.
Anything in the evenings would be great. I've got a 9-5er, and I get the invites to the 8:30am coffee hours, but there's just no way I could make any of them...
I'm definitely interested in more gatherings, especially in the
Northeast area. A couple of places come to mind--Eastside Coop, with
its streetside space that it formerly rented out and which it uses
occasionally for movie showings; also, the Sen Lek Thai restaurant at
Lowry and Central (it seems quite supportive of local food and low
impact means of operating).

Evenings or weekends would be my choice. Sen Lek has a bar side, and
happy hour specials.

Yes, I want to see more people of more diverse backgrounds involved. I
could host a small gathering at my house, and am willing to help in planning.
