Introduction

I love languages and traveling! And, I enjoy acting as a culture bridge, helping people to connect and understand each other. At the moment, I can speak English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Chinese. I forgot my Russian, Hebrew, and Taiwanese. :(

What is your native language and what language pairs do you wish to study?

I was born and raised, mostly in the U.S.A. My native language is English. I want to study Spanish to English and French to English translation, but, for the sake of practice, I'm willing to work in both directions in group meetings.

How did you learn your other languages? (NOTE: This group requires ADVANCED skills.)

Spanish: I lived in Puerto Rico for 3.5 years as a kid, and did exchange programs in Costa Rica in high school and college for a total of 14 months. French: I studied French in high school and college. I also worked in France as a teaching assistant for 7 months 2009-2010.

Do you have any previous translation experience--either professionally or as a student?

I have no previous translation experience, however, I used to be a hospital interpreter. And I give tours in Spanish, English, and French as a part of my job.

What subject matter would you like to study? (Ex.: legal, medical, political, literary)

Politics, social justice, climate change, health; newspapers, correspondance, speeches

How did you find this group? (Ex: Google, LinkedIn, Meetup Search)

I hope to meet either onSundays from 1:30 to 3:30, or 6:00 to 8:00; or Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30. However, I may try to make myself available to meet another time...
