2012 Inaugural Meetup

  • February 9, 2012 · 7:30 PM

In the February Transmedia London meetup (aka Transmedia London 4), we have:

  • Writer Joseph Lidster speaks about how he wrote the transmedia content for the biggest and most successful dramas on TV today: SHERLOCK and DOCTOR WHO.
  • Patrick O'Luanaigh, CEO of game and ARG developers nDreams, talks about his latest projects
  • The lowdown on Zombies, Run!, the all-time most successful videogame on Kickstarter: how it was funded and how the story works by Six to Start

So, it's a pretty big lineup, and we may have even more speakers coming along! For those who are on the Waiting List, please sit tight - extra spaces could open up.

Once again, thanks go to BAFTA for hosting us again: BAFTA's public events and online resources bring you closer to the creative talent behind your favourite games, films, and TV shows. Find out more at www.bafta.org/newsletter, www.facebook.com/bafta or www.twitter.com/baftagames

Thanks,

I loved the mix of speakers - all of whom had great delivery and great content. Well organized too. Five stars to all involved!

Very inspiring. Maybe looking for more info on the way transmedia can link all the platforms to create new innovative projects...

    Glad you enjoyed it.

We've tended to focus on actual products and projects than the wider 'what is transmedia' discussion or to do an overview of the field. That's not to say we won't in the future, but we're always looking for great examples to display.

Great collection of speakers, particularly the one from nDreams. Would be good to see if spinoff workshops could be set up where the nuts and bolts of building a transmedia experience is looked into with specific case studies perhaps as get the sense a lot of people would like that. Great venue just as Ravensbourne is as well!

I think the diversity of the talks was very interesting. It's the opportunity for cross-pollination of ideas across various media that makes these meet ups unique.

Really interesting talks - would love to hear more about non-games stuff though. And possibly start earlier so more time for networking at the end.

This was a really interesting night for me. I was really taken with the discussions around Run Zombies and their low budget mentality.
I have to say that I was looking for more talk about transmedia itself, by that I mean how gaming and blogging and tv shows are then are widened to multiscreen experiences, with exploration of complimentary platforms to support broadcast, etc.
