Our first Meetup at our new and final location will be AWESOME. We have Gyda Arber of The Fifth Wall - who will be presenting her genre-defying project Red Cloud Rising. The New York Times called it "theater outside the theater."

Alternate Reality Gaming meets theater in Gyda Arber’s Red Cloud Rising, a tale of Wall Street power that unfolds via text message, putting the audience directly in the show. NOTE: Performed off-site in lower Manhattan. A cell phone is required.

About Gyda Arber:
Gyda Arber (http://gydaarber.com/) is a writer-director best known for her iPod noir Suspicious Package (The Brick, 59E59, Edinburgh Fringe), Suspicious Package: Rx (published in Plays and Playwrights 2010), and her ARG-inspired show Red Cloud Rising (currently running at The Brick). Named “Person of the Year” by nytheatre.com, Gyda is the director of Theater of the Arcade: Five Classic Video Games Adapted for the Stage, the director-creator of the interactive play Q&A: The Perception of Dawn, and the director-creator of the short film Watching (Bride of Sinister Six). Also an actress, she has appeared frequently at The Brick including as Phoebe Zeitgeist in Blood on the Cat’s Neck, Anna Nicole Smith in Greed: A Musical Love $tory, Babylon Babylon, The Ninja Cherry Orchard, World Gone Wrong, and Ich Liebe Jesus! (Virgin Mary). She is proud to be the executive producer of Game Play, the only theater festival dedicated to the confluence of gaming and performance.
