I too am an organizer and have to struggle with getting the dues paid.
One thing I have learned is that at this time of year if you let the dues expire, they usually offer a really discounted rate once the new year begings. (Like half price)
I let one of mine expire almost the whole 30 days beyond the due date last year, because I did not have the money or help with paying it, and they offered this incredible rate of $36 for 6 months.
I currently do not have any money to donate to the group. If I can make it to the first event, I will give you a couple of bucks. Otherwise, I am down to only $60 for food the whole month of January.
Just thought that I would share the info about the dues in case it helps your situation. I too know how frustrating it can be with a group on meetup.com, I run three and even though one has 500+ members, I cannot even get 40 to answer a poll. uggghhhhhh,.............
Happy new year!

Subject: [TASeattle] Chip-in to cover $72 for Meetup site by TOMORROW
Hi all --
We need to pay the $72 for the next 6 months for this Meetup site by TOMORROW.
Please consider chipping in via PayPal whatever you can $5, $10, etc. Please send to my PayPal account, [address removed] . If we get more than $72 the balance will go toward the room rentals/refreshments for our Transpartisan Salons series.
NOTE: I have added an OPTIONAL DUES of $3 to the left hand side of the site (pay via PayPal also.) If enough of us did this we'd get the $72 covered.
GREAT Holiday Party last night!...thank you for those who participated. Note: Next Salon is Jan. 18 at 6pm, location TBD.
Please Note: If you hit "REPLY", your message will be sent to everyone on this mailing list ([address removed])
