Spring is finally here and the roads are once again clear for traveling! Let's take an imaginary trip to Paris by visiting an Art Museum and dining at a fine french restaurant!
All of this french culture can be experienced in Milwaukee. Yes, Milwaukee! The Milwaukee Art Museum is currently running the Color Rush: 75 Years of Color Photography in America exhibit, as well as their other artwork. http://mam.org/
Let's make a day of it! We can tour the museum beginning at 3:00 pm. The museum closes at 5:00 pm, so we can then head west to Le Reve in Wauwatosa. Our reservation is at 5:30 pm.
Le Rêve Patisserie and Café, opened in the summer of 2008 by Andrew Schneider and Therese Hittman, serves traditional bistro meals from breakfast through late-night dinner. Located in the heart of the Wauwatosa Village, Le Rêve is renowned for its exceptional design. Once a 100-year-old bank, the building has since converted into a spacious patisserie and café with classic leather banquettes, playful pendant lighting, and a signature zinc-topped bar. They just completed additional remodeling and reopened on March 22nd.
Le Rêve offers a French menu prepared by chef de cuisine Patrick Murphy. Guests can also choose an assortment of breads and traditional pastries, made by classically trained pastry chefs, from the signature glass display. Please see the menu on their website. http://www.lerevecafe.com/index.html
Please join us for a springtime adventure to kickoff the 2013 travel season and socialize! We will arrange carpooling one week prior to going. If you are a rider, please plan to contribute towards gas and any parking fees. The prepayment of $11.50 includes museum admission and meetup event fee. If you have any questions, please contact Teri or Nancy.
