Join Our Do it In A Day Project!

Over 2 days we will clean, paint and decorate the Melody House community room
transforming it into a bright and sunny place for the girls to study, read, listen to music or just enjoy some quiet time.

About the Melody House

Their mission to provide a safe and happy home environment for girls between the ages of 12 and 18 years, who are in need of care and protection. The focus is on education as well as the development of social and occupational skills development that build self-esteem and self sufficiency.

The Melody House is a licensed non profit organization. Executive Director, Clair Purkiss along with her staff, are tireless advocates who believe in empowering young girls and women. The home has space for up to 20 residents. Often times when a girl is subjected to abuse in the home, the girl, not the abuser is forced to leave. If family members are not able to help, many of these young girls end up homeless. That is the gap the Melody House attempts to fill.

While living at the Melody House, the girls are nurtured and loved and are given a sense of family and community. Upon graduation from high school, the girls leave for college or work but often return to mentor and guide current residents.
