Blair Woods Bird Walk

  • June 29, 2013 · 8:00 AM

Join us for a rare opportunity to experience a Travis Audubon sanctuary!

All of Travis Audubon's sanctuaries are closed to the public. However, as members of the Travis Audubon Meetup group, we would like to invite you to join us for a morning bird walk at Blair Woods. The walk will explore the three habitat areas present in this beautiful 10-acre sanctuary on the east side of Austin--woodlands, savannah, and riparian corridor. It will also include the Blair Woods story, recounting its unique history and a description of our ongoing restoration and education programs.

Because we don't publicize the address of Blair Woods, if you are planning to attend, please e-mail [masked] for the address and a fact sheet detailing what to wear, where to park, and so on.

Interested birders of all ages welcome. We will have a few pairs of binoculars available, but please bring your own, if you have them.

Shey: Is it OK to use your photos you posted here on our Facebook page? If so, do I give you the photo credit? The pictures you take are truly amazing.

Did anyone else come home with Chiggars? I did. If you did, best rememdy is witch hazel and once that dries, apply hydrocortisone Cream. Works great.

I thought about it but decided it was best for all involved that they stay there. ;)

Good list of great things we saw. Nice to have Mike there with his dragonfly guide. So, I didn't figure out how to upload the pictures. I could do it onto the Travis Audubon Facebook page but not to this Meetup page. Next time, I need to have Shey help me figure that out.
