A fun time but I am beat. I am so glad that I did not try to wait for the 11:00 PM train. Alex let us know how it went after we left.

    • Jerry R.

I wish I could have stayed longer. I am glad that you had fun. Let's skip the wine festival next time and just have fun. :)

I won't be able to get there early, so is there a plan to meet up at the center? I will look for you, but wonder about how crowded the event will be. Let me know the plan.

    June 1, 2013

    • Jerry R.

I'll update our/my location but once we get to the festival it may get crazy. Let's meet at the start and play it by ear after that. Text me if you get lost or can not find anyone.

      June 1, 2013

  • Jerry R.

Anyone else getting thirsty? :) This should be a great weekend too. Does anyone know a good place to have lunch between South Station and the Center for the Arts?

There are plenty of places right around BCA on Tremont Street. It would be a matter of choosing what type of food you want to eat. Most serve brunch during the time you will be getting there.

If anyone is interested, they let us trade the wine tickets for beer fest tickets for Friday.

    May 30, 2013

    • Jerry R.

Now you tell us. :) I'm already committed so I cannot go Friday.

      May 30, 2013

    • Joe

Same here, already committed. Too bad Leslie, I always look forward to drinking beer with you!

      May 31, 2013

  • Kim

My ticket is available. $20 until Friday. If I still have it on Friday, I will give it away.

    May 29, 2013

  • Sandy

If anyone still needs tickets, I have 2 for sale - I paid $29 for one and $39 for the other, but will sell both for $40! Email me at [masked] if interested.

  • Sandy

I just found out that I have an obligatory family birthday party and now can't host or attend. :( if anyone is willing to host, please let me know. You just need to serve as the point person, let people know where and how to find you and make sure they have your cell #. Also if anyone needs tickets, I have 2i can sell at a good price :)

    May 27, 2013

    • Jerry R.

I'll give it a shot Sandy. I have mailed out my number.

      May 28, 2013

    • Sandy

Thank you Jerry! You'll want to let everyone know how to find you as well. Trust me, I'd much rather be drinking wine than attending a 5 year old's birthday party!

Anyone from central MA that wants to take the commuter rail into Boston can meet us at Union Station for the 9:10 AM train. We can find some place nice to have lunch once we all arrive in Boston then walk to the festival. http://www.mbta.com/schedules_and_maps/rail/lines/?route=WORCSTER&direction=I&timing=S&RedisplayTime=Redisplay+Time

I am looking forward to hosting this event. :) I am however, going to see "Earth Wind and Fire" (yes, I am that old) at the Bank of America Pavillion that evening so am not going to arrange a large group dinner. I do encourage members to either make small group reservations in the area and invite others, or go to dinner on an improptu basis after the event. If you are not longer attending, please change your RSVP.

In lieu of the tragic circumstances that occurred in Boston yesterday and the current uncertainty associated with that, I have made a personal decision not to attend the spring wine fest Saturday. However, I recognize that many members have purchased tickets and may still want to attend. As such, I am going to keep the event on the calendar so that those who still plan on going can continue having a dialogue using the comments feature to make arrangements to meet, etc. If any member would like to volunteer to be the event host to facilitate these efforts, please let me know right away and I will assign you in that role for this event only. That will allow you to email all members who are attending with critical details such as how to find you, your cell phone#, etc.

If you do not plan on attending, make sure you change your RSVP to "No."

    April 16, 2013

    • Sandy

I have cancelled the dinner reservations at 28 Degrees. However, if a group would still like to attend, you may make reservations using OpenTable.com.

I just RSVP'D for the after event dinner. Still looking to ride in with someone. It's a long way from Dartmouth.

    April 10, 2013

  • Sandy

Reminder, the dinner event after the wine fest is posted SEPARATELY so RSVP's on this page for the wine fest will not guarantee you a spot at dinner. If you plan on joining us for dinner afterward and have not RSVP'd for that, please do so: There are 35 signed up for the wine fest and only 18 for dinner, so I want to make sure nobody who wants to join us for dinner is left out and provide the venue with an accurate count. Thanks!

TREK BEFORE THE FESTIVAL! I found this online and thought it would be something fun to do before the wine-festival! It's a scavenger hunt in Boston! Teams would be formed (2-4 people per team) and the cost for each team is only $19.94 (so as little as $5.00/pp)!!! Thinking we could schedule an 11:00 am start time which should give us plenty of time to get to the wine-festival for 3:00. Let me know if you are interested!!!
    PLEASE VOTE HERE!!

There is one scavenger hunt that stays in Boston Common - another one that explores other parts of the city and it looks like the answers are provided, so I'd say no! :)

      March 9, 2013

    • Sandy

There was mixed interest in this and I now have a conflict so we will not have an official "trek" before the festival, but you'll have a passport to trek from one wine vendor to another at the festival and a short walk to the restaurant, so we're good. :)

TravelZoo has the $29 price available for thosw who have not yet bought your ticket. Also, if you no longer plan on attending, please change your RSVP to No. Here's the link (thanks Jon for letting me know!) Remember to select the 3:00 - 6:00 pm slot.

I have just made dinner reservations in the South End for after our wine-tasting soiree and will be posting it shortly. If you plan on attending dinner, you MUST RSVP separately for that event (your RSVP here does not guarantee you a dinner spot). I am also considering a "scavenger hunt" type of "trek prior to the wine-festival - stay tuned!

I keep getting weekly promotional emails stating the $29 is going to end "this Friday" so it appears that the price continues to be valid. I have no idea when the event promoters are going to change this, so I still encourage members to get tickets sooner than later to make sure you get the discount!
