  • This location is shown only to members

Come take a scenic hike to wind down after work. This will be a full moon hike if the weather cooperates. Sunset 7:37 PM, Full moon rise 7:28 PM.

We will meet in the parking area at the intersection of Patterson Ranch Road and Paseo Padre Pky. (See the map in the "More -> Files" section).

The hike will be about 1 1/2 to 2 hours long.

We will hike to the top of Red Hill (about 350 ft of elevation).

My first evening hike and it was great. Thanks to Jake for organizing this. Appreciate his gesture in splitting midway to accompany Linda/Katherine and asking the rest to go ahead.

It was a good hike and the people were very friendly. Jake was a good and warm leader. He was always looking out for everyone. I want to thank him and the others that kept watch over me and my friend when I had a problem climbing the steep hill. I hadn't climb hills in a long time and my problem knee was fatigued. I had just returned from a trip to the Olympics where I did a lot of walking but there were no hills so the hike was the first time in a long time I used the muscles required to climb the hill. Thanks for waiting for us.

Great hike. Jake (the group leader) was especially gracious to stay with my friend and I when she began to encounter difficulty scaling one of the elevations. Would recommend this hike, highly.

Hey Jake, I have to pick up the kids in Pleasanton so there's almost no way we're going to be on time. We're gonna try, but please don't wait for us.

We normally wait a few days before a hike and then increase the number of spots to allow everyone on the waitlist to "officially" attend the hike. The only reason we limit the number is to have a better chance that the group will not split up into too many different speeds and one of the subgroups get lost. Coyote Hills is wide open and easy to orient so we can handle a larger group than some of our other hikes. It's no problem for members on the waitlist to organize their own hike in the same area at the same time, but we can only be responsible for the "attending" group.

Thanks Jake, my wife and I will try to make it but if we do not make it by 6:35, please do not wait. If we make it we will try and catch up to the group.

How about the WaitListers meet up at the same place- same day & time and follow a different trail OR schedule a evening hike on Sat/Sunday - labor day weekend.

Hi Tuyet, this is a different hike than the MSG is hosting, but in the same area on the same night. We start earlier and leave earlier and take a different route. They seem to be full for that hike now, so if you don't make it off their waitlist, you are welcome to join us.
