HIKE STATS:
Distance: 4 mile loop
Estimated Hike Time: 2.5 hrs
Elevation change: 900?, 1133? or 1400 ft

Difficulty: DIFFICULT (for distance + Elevation + Slope)

Come take a challenging scenic hike to wind down after work. This is an eastern loop with much more elevation than the northern Jordan pond loop we usually hike. We will meet in the same Dry Creek Staging Area parking lot at the end of May Rd. (Major intersection is Mission Blvd and Whipple Rd.)

I enjoyed the hike and the company. It was a hard hike due to my out-of-shape factor, but I enjoyed that it is helping on getting back into shape. Thanks for the meet up!

This is a full 2 hour hike, not for the faint hearted. It seems to be a long long hike, but we made it back in 2 hours. Part of the hike was in the woods going uphill the whole way and the path was a little bit narrow with some dry leaves on the ground, but not that dangerous. It was strenuous to climb, but we took breaks once in a while, which helped. It was really good exercise for the heart. On the way back, the scenery was beautiful on top of the mountains and sunset.

I liked this hike. It was more difficult than Jordan Pond, but it was still a two hour hike.

Hi Michelle. You can click on the "Dry Creek Reqional Park" link above and it should open to the exact point in google maps. You just drive to the east on Whipple road until you intersect Mission Blvd, then continue across as it becomes May Road. You go a short distance almost to the end and on the right is a dirt parking lot with a Dry Creek Regional Park sign. We meet in the parking lot and it should be a big group that is hard to miss. I will be wearing the hat shown in my photo. We look forward to meeting you.

I'm new to this group. I'm not sure who to look for and am interested in joining this hike. I'm also not sure exactly where this park is located. Can someone help out a newbie?
