Hike to the top of Table Rock MTN

The Table Rock trail is 7.4 miles, strenuous, mostly steps but has a gorgeous view that makes the hike worth while. The total time including a 20 minute stop should be 5.5 hrs. Please bring a snack and something to drink to hydrate the body. We will also stop for 5 - 10 minutes at the midway point which is a small gazebo type building with benches. No dogs on this hike because you will have your hands full doing the steps and managing the dog (s). There is a park entry fee of $2.00 or $1.25 depending on your age. The trailhead is by the small office / bathrooms on the left. Park by the Lake on the right. We will start this one at 11:00 AM vice noon to give us ample time to do the hike, stop when necessary, have time for a snack, and get back down before dark. Jim Cooper "Coop" will be leading this one.

A great day just to be out in this beautiful part of the country that we call home. There were a lot of people on the trail, but that was not a problem nor a hinderance. In fact, it was great to see people of all ages (and I mean all ages) out on the trail and trade short bits of conversation with some. Our group of 3 was small, but I am sure " that we were the "class" of the field of hikers.

Another great day of hiking. Lots of people there today; trail was busy. Yes the usual three of us did the hike; Beautiful views; even had a small plane buzz by us at the top; Glad Winter is almost officially over!!

Only 3 of us - The Young at Heart Hikers, Larry, Bonnie and myself participated in this hike. This was the second time Bonnie and Larry had hiked to the top in the last 10 days. Way to go guys !!! It was a conditioning hike for me doing it in 4.5 hrs which included the 2 stops to rest and have a snack. Great weather, great views and lots of pictures were taken that I will post. It is such a treat hiking with Larry and Bonnie and the stories Larry has are endless. The trail was dry and well maintained. The parking lot was packed with cars and many were hiking today. Gorgeous hiking weather.

I'll have to stop every thirty minutes to catch my breath, but it's a hike I've done about 50 times.
