Hike to Twin Falls and Jump Off Rock

  • Corner of HWY 11 and Roy F. Jones Memorial Highway

  • This will be around a 4.5 hr adventure to hike to Twin Falls which is only .5 miles total. A quick and easy access for the Kodak moment. Then we will carpool or car van to the trail head that goes to Jump Off Rock. This is the best view of Lake Jocassee. This part of the hike should be around 3.5 hrs. We can snack and hydrate from Jump Off Rock. Definitely another Kodak moment. I suggest we meet initially at the corner of HYW 11 and Roy F. Jones Memorial HYW (the road that goes back to the Cliff's Vineyards) around 10:30 AM and determine who wants to carpool. There is a parking lot on the left close to HWY 11 with free ample parking. From there we will go to Twin Falls then to the trail head for the longer, moderate to strenuous hike. The trail head is only 5 miles from Twin Falls so there will not be much transit time. Dogs are welcome on the trail if they are well behaved and have good social skills. Please bring a leash. The hike to Jump Off Rock will be in Jocassee Gorge and we may see turkey hunters on ATV's. I will be wearing blaze orange. It has not been a problem in the past hiking late morning, early afternoon during turkey season. Will be a fun day with gorgeous views and a waterfall. Just not part of the trail. Look forward to hiking with you. Jim Cooper "Coop"

If I read it right, we'll meet at 10:30 and be hiking for 8 hours (4.5 + 3.5). I have a 7 PM commitment which is why I'm asking.
    Thanks in advance

It's finally warming up. I'll be on all the hikes until winter.
